Tightening The Floorboard Air Vents

I can swear I've seen this somewhere on the board before but am now having trouble finding it. Perhaps I'm misremembering?
The air vents at the front of the van - by the driver's side door and the one by the passenger's heater - come open pretty much at a breeze now. I need to tighten them so that it requires a bit more force to open them but for the life of me I can't figure out how to tighten them. I'll admit I haven't given them more than a cursory glance, but from that it appears there are no screws that hold them in place. Where I expected to find a screw or a bolt I found some sort of plastic rivet or the likes instead.
Are these not adjustable? Any ideas short of a duct tape solution?
Thanks,
Bryce

There is no mechanical adjustment that I know of. There is foam weatherstripping inside the vents that the doors rub on and that provides the friction to keep them closed. Your old foam is probably just old, dried and hard or missing so it provides no friction.
