Went into a Home Despot for some furnace filters. Remembered this....

My first thought was to look for something that has louvers stamped into it & work from there. Something like forced air heat vents for a house.

Something like what I was thinking of. Bottom one is the closest fit. 7- 8 bucks.

Got a stock plastic defrost grille in poor condition right here. It’s 18-7/8” long & a hair under 4” wide.
Might take some good & imaginative sheet metal work to cut out & use those louvers & get the new panel to attach to the dash top.
On the other hand the inside of that lip is 3-3/4”. Hmm...

If you did it right it could almost be ... “Guaranteed not to rust, bust or collect dust!” tm :D

Not sure why I wasted my time on that. Just throwin’ it out there as a possibility.
Sort of forgot about this & that I think it *might* be easier to do with the newer car type things.
Still, the other way could resemble the stock look if that’s what someone wanted.

I think I’d try making something out of metal & maybe using something like these out of a newer car @ the junkyard.

These look cool.

Sure, it wouldn’t be original, but does it have to? Might even work better.

So...
Will ST get GB’s grille?
Will GB forsake his van brothers & destroy his old van parts? Posted Image
Will TS ever STFU?

Tune in for the next exciting (?) episode of ‘As the Econo World Turns’!

Just stumbled across this, funny because, I just got a floor vent cover from HomeDepot for my dash! (Stained Wood) Wasnt going to say anything LoL because I thought people would laugh, but I can match it to my dash insert and headliner! (Door panels when I get to them as well)
