After much research and not being thrilled with how I insulated some other trucks in the past, this time I decided to go with Ceramic Insulation. I applied it with an AR-1 spray gun with 3-4 coats everywhere. Started with ceiling, walls, inside doors, floor, and firewall up front. The down side is #1 Time, you should apply thin coats and allow to dry 24 hours before the next coat and # 2 Cost, it is Expensive! I used a total of 15 gallons on my shorty and applied it everywhere. It is suppose to act as a sound deadener, and insulate. When I finally get painted this summer and get out and about I will be able to tell you what I think. For more info, product specs, application etc. go to www.nwlink.com/~capstone/

Definitely be interested in hearing how it works out. Lord knows these old boxes can be a tad noisy.

I will be following this closely as well, amazing job. Did you spray over the black material that was on the floor?
I am looking for a 68-74 SWB Cargo Van.

I did spray over the black with the TC Ceramic Insulation. The black was PPG's epoxy primer black.

So how thick is this TC Ceramic Insulation application? I can only imagine it is going to make quite abit of differance. Your E-100 has a sliding door, correct? I am going to be watching your progress closely!
EDIT: I found your photos, just like my 72 E-100.

One coat is about 15 mills or 0.038 cm. I put on four coats. Just by tapping on the outside roof, walls, and doors I notice a big difference as a sound deadener..........vs non-insulated and the tinny sound of an empty can. I do have a slider door. I am almost ready for paint, it has been a great project to get this far.
