Just bought a 1969 e200. The person I bought it from says he was the owner for last 20 years. He said it was a factory camper. It is not a pop up but does have a fold out bench/bed and a cabinet right next to it with ice box and sink, needs lots of work. There is one big aluminum sided window on driverside in the middle of the van and aluminum sided windows on side doors. don't have any pics yet but will post when I figure out how to. I can't find the link now but he did have one pic on this site a few years ago saying that he had owned it for 17 years. Can anyone help with the side door vin. Trying to figure out original color, axles ,gears, posi? Thanks for any help with my new toy. The vin on door is the following ......................... E24ghf57297 123 e242 b189 g17 05400 152 4000 724246 Thanks again Madden

If you knew what ‘screen name’ the guy used here you might be able to find the pic he posted. Find him under 'Members' & then click 'Find Content'.

As for your vin number question....
That’s just one of the many ‘standard’ or usual type questions that come up here. I think most of the usual questions on the 1968/’69 to 1974 vans have been ask & answered here many times. New & different things do come up but most straight forward stuff has been covered one way or another. You just have to find it. I’d have to search to give you a good answer, so......
Best way to search this board for specific things.....

Sometimes you just have to use slightly different terms to find what you want. Like singular vs plural terms. In other words you may not find what you want by searching for 'wheel', but you might by searching for 'wheels'.
If you don’t know how to post pix see this...

And this, setting the size of pix....

That is the method I like to use anyway. I think it’s easier than other ways.
You can learn to do a lot of things on the board, including another way to post pix, if you read some of these topics here...

Welcome to the forum Madden. It's been a while since I looked up any of this stuff myself. On your door tag, does it say "color" anywhere?. Sometimes ya can't read the words on the darn things. Just the codes.

E24ghf57297
E24 = Regular van
G = engine = 302 V8, 2V carb.
H = Assembly Plant = Lorain Ohio
F57297 = serial number = indicates a 1969 model
123 = 123” wheelbase (long wheelbase)
??? color – since no color was listed, it might have been a special order color
E242 Model = Regular van, 5,400 GVW, E200 model
B189 Body =
B1 = Interior Trim = Light blue crinkle, all vinyl (swatches 11 & 54)
89 = Body Type = Cargo Van (89B=custom interior) no windows on the sides, might have windows on the rear
G Transmission = 3-speed Ford automatic
17 Axle = 3.25:1 ratio, 3,300 lbs capacity
05400 Maximum gross vehicular weight (lbs)
152 Net Horsepower
4000 R.P.M. for Horsepower rating
724246 District Code
72 = San Jose is where it went before the final dealer
4246 = special order. This was probably special ordered by the camper conversion company and then sold through the Ford dealer. The absence of a paint code indicates that it was a special order paint color. Is there a brand name on the camper?

I collect 1st gen Econolines, but glad to help out a 2nd gen owner.

If there's no paint code on the door tag, look under the hood for a small metal tag that's attached by one of the bolts that holds the windshield washer solvent bottle. There should be some more codes on there, and one of them will be the paint code. Here's a link to one thread where we discussed some of the info on the firewall tag.

Does the van look like my 1969 E200 camper conversion? Two tone. fiberglass top.
my interior has been stripped out but I'm curious what your interior looks like.
I bought mine in California but it has an emblem from Bountiful, Oregon.
