First off, if you want to have an avitar (small image) appear next to your name in your messages, or have a custom signature at the bottom of each message,, you will have to register...

Once you register, and log-in with your new name an password, you'll see a link that says "My Controls" near the top of the screen.

Click "My controls", and you will see several options on the left of the screen. To set up an "avitar", click on "Edit Avitar Settings".

The most important line in the instructions is right at the top;
"Your avatar must be no bigger than 150 pixels by 150 pixels in size. Uploaded avatars from your computer must be no larger than 20 KB.
The following file types are allowed: gif .jpeg .jpg .swf .png"

If it's any larger than what is allowed, it won't work. I'm going to look into allowing slightly larger avitars though.

Just choose an avitar from one of the "Pre-installed avitars" or upload one from your computer. Please don't use images that are trademarked material.

Once you have selected your avitar, click "Update Avitar", and you're done... woo hoo!!.. You now have a cool little image that appears in all your posts....

As for the "custom signature"... Just go back into "My Controls" and click on "Edit Signature"... Type in what you want to appear at the bottom of your messages and click "update signature".... And now your brilliant words of wisdom will be displayed to everyone that reads your messages...... Please keep it clean....

If anyone needs help,,,, Just ask......

Wanted to throw in a little info about changing avatars..

Mitch brought it to my attention that he was having problems changing his avatar,, and when I tried to change my own, I ran into the same problem.. For some odd reason, even after selecting a different image from your computer, and clicking the "update avatar" button,, you might still see your old avatar. If you run across this problem, try clicking your browser's "refresh" or "reload" button. This little quirk appears to effect Firefox more often than Internet Explorer.

If, after refreshing the page, you still are unable to get your avatar changed,,,, let me know.

Actually,, I didn't notice that part. I know it might be an incentive to join, but I'll probably change that setting if I can find it.
