Hey Guys,

Due to work constraints my summer trip to Ohio and the Family was cut short. My dad and I could only slip away to our favorite junkyard for about two hours. My wife wanted to go. She brought the digital camera.

I bet this was a cool truck in the day.

Hey Marlon,

Sorry the pics are from outside. The wasps were encircling my head as these shots were taken.

This thing is there too. I can't tell you how it looks underneath. The van is still on wheels but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is up out of the dirt. I took some Power Steering Parts from this van and recall the A.C. pump and bracket with it as well. (302)

I love gunk yard images. E-Wayne is a rock star!

I have a few questions:

If Marlon is not interested in the AC parts, I may be. But it will not be until around mid November.

What would the cost be for all the parts? I also need the controls cover there behind the driver seat!. Would it be worth it to ship to AZ or should I look localy?

And above all 1-10 what is the condition of the parts. As far as the vents I may be able to fab something up here at home but would rather have original parts in fair-good condition!

Wow, that's a pretty complete Chateau Club Wagon!

How much would it cost to get all these parts? I pretty much need the entire AC set up, including the compressor, condensor, etc.

If you can let me know about a price I'll make a decision.

Thanks for the pictures! I love the junkyards too, and feel like a kid in a candy store whenever I find a vehicle with stuff I can use.

Hey Marlon,

I want someone to get these A.C. Parts. This junkyard is really cheap. I wouldn't expect him to want more than $50 or $60 U.S.. I could be wrong but I bought a complete set of pop-outs(6) from him for $25.

It's really just my time. I'm guessing it would take me most of a day to carefully remove all the parts. And of course, shipping from Ohio(junkyard) or possibly Chicago(my home). You have helped me out in the past. And I'd like to return the favor. I'm planning on running back to Ohio at the end of November. I could get the stuff then. My Dad is going to sandblast my hood so I can patch it.

By the way, that hood you got Randy is the best original one I've ever seen. We should confer on exactly what stuff I grab. My dad told me that the fella has stopped crushing cars, FOR NOW! I live with the constant fear of going back to the yard and seeing the row with all the Mids (6 total) gone.

As far as cost. I wish I could guess. cost + shipping + what you think is fair = good Karma for E. Wayne. I'd be more than willing to take a rain check for the next sweet hood you find. Or maybe some other sweet trinket.

Wow, thanks E.Wayne!

Yes, let's go for it. As for the parts I need, well, I basically need every single part of the AC system, including

the ducts,
condensor (under the floor)
control panel and wires
other duct thingee near the floor
compressor from engine
pulley from engine

Probably some other stuff I don't even know about. Pintony did a great writeup with pictures of when he installed his that was great - I think it's still on here somewhere.

As for payment, of course cost + shipping without question. As for what extra we should do, to pay for your time, I'm pretty open to anything. I'll definitely say you have dibs on the next sweet hood I find. (From now on I'll grab every sweet hood I find - I had no idea they were as sought after.). Let's play it by ear, but be sure and keep an accurate accounting of how much time you put into getting the parts - then we can decide how big of a raincheque to give you, or work something out to our mutual satisfaction. Either way, the next hood is yours.

Thanks,

Marlon

Here's a link to Pintony's excellent write up.

He's got photos of all the necessary parts.

Thanks again,

Marlon
