I have a 1964 in which a 200ci six has been installed. The brace/strut/support to which the motor mounts attach has weakened and needs replacing. Can anyone tell me who might have a replacement or should i just get one fabricated? I am guessing searching for the part is hopeless. I've looked at Mac's etc. but can't seem to find one. Heck, I don't even know what the part is called. thanks for the help

Welcome.
Depending on where you are, there are a few possibilities of getting donors... One guy in Kentucky, and I might have some here in W. Can. coming out of a 61. These arms kinda limit you to using smaller inline sixes. But you can find crossmembers from up to 67 that attach to the frame rails and can handle V8s.
If you are close to Saskatchewan, I might be able to help you... the one van has frame damage between the front pass leaf perches, so the whole front end (and your lateral members for the engine mounts) will go, and the 61 will become a trailer!
Good luck.

I unfortunately am in Houston texas. The six in the van is a 200 and will probably be all I need. I have a toy that is quick so I am content to have the van as it is presently. Would you share the contact info for the guy in Kentucky? Good luck and thanks for clarifying the name of the piece.

Click to view attachmentHi, Here are two scanned sheets out of the Ford Parts books used at the dealer. One of the pictures showing the front and rear mount assemblies and the other picture is the sheet showing the Ford Part numbers for the parts in the picture. If you can tell me what part in the picture you are looking for I can give you the correct Ford part number and maybe some places to try. John

John,
the part is the braket into which the mounts bolt. It appears to be labeled 6028/6029 in the schematic. I cannot read the parts sheet. I appreciate your help. I am sure i would want to replace the mounts if they are available.

I never looked very close at it, but if it's a bolt-on part, should be easy to remove and install, and I doubt it would be very big to ship. I'll take a look again when I get my van back to town.

If the motor is out it won't be a problem. Thanks for checking and it appears to be a bolt on bracket. thanks again.

There are a lot of companies that have NOS parts as well as make reproduction items for the first generation vans so these number should help you. Dennis Carpenter is one company. There is also Green Sales in Ohio. John

Thank you John. I appreciate the help VERY much. I just got into the van a couple of weeks ago. It needs very little now, but like all things with age replacement and repair is ongoing. Again, thank you.
